"It is a happy talent to learn how to play" - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Mission & Philosophy
Our mission at Little Sprouts is to provide a stimulating learning environment in which each child gains a positive self-concept and develops to his/her full potential through a “whole" child approach. Our curriculum is developmentally, individually, and culturally appropriate. Meaningful experiences are provided for the children so that they may learn more about themselves, their families, their community and the environment they live in. Our Educational Philosophy is inspired by world renowned educational pedagogical practices that focus on the core values and beliefs of an early years approach, such as Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), STEM and principles of sensory play. At Little Sprouts we focus on the following:
The importance of play, exploration and sensory experiences,
The belief that children are capable of constructing their own learning,
The process is more important than the product.
The environment is the third teacher.
The role of the adult is to help children to form an understanding of themselves and their place in the world through interactions and explorations.
The importance of practical life experiences to gain independence.
The belief that early childhood is the perfect time to cultivate positive attitudes to develop foundation skills in science, technology, engineering and maths skills.
To protect, preserve and maintain the sustainability of our planet for the future through the 4R principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recreate.
